We are delighted with their work, which was delivered on schedule, on budget and to a high standard. We were kept fully appraised of cost issues which were completely transparent from day one. Their approach to this created trust between us and not a penny of outlay was unexpected – to their professional credit. We were impressed with their work ethic. Some of the construction was carried out during very bad weather but these guys rarely even stopped for a break. The site contained a large amount of items from a recent house move, this could have caused problems but the Altree Joinery Ltd staff worked around the issue without a word of complaint for which we were grateful.
Work like this takes time and we were concerned about the need to have workers with us most every day for weeks on end. We need not have been worried. The Altree Joinery Ltd staff are really easy to get along with, friendly, approachable and always in good humour. We have used builders in the past and can say with confidence that Altree Joinery Ltd were the best firm we have employed. We have further work to do and they are now our first choice.

Altree Joinery Ltd have done an excellent job on giving Alavik Lodge & Cottage a complete makeover. A transformation that included a new patio door, additional VELUX window and new guttering, but most importantly a stunning new wrap-around decking veranda and terrace, together with a beautiful timber and steel tension wire balustrade, have ensured that our guests can enjoy a lighter, brighter holiday and not only have a great place to sit out, but a much improved view.

This involved stripping the interior of the building right back to the stone and, in effect, building a completely new house within the original walls. We had a self-catering cabin built for us by Altree Joinery. Like most clients we were naturally a bit apprehensive as the start date approached, but we needn’t have worried as from commencement to completion of build we were kept fully informed almost on a daily basis as to what would be happening, what sub-contractors would be on site and on which days we could expect deliveries of different materials.
Sean and his team are not afraid to get their sleeves rolled up and get on with it, regardless of weather with tea-breaks appearing to be determined by stages of work rather than the clock! A couple of things that became obvious from day one was that at the end of each day all waste material was bagged and removed from site when they had a trailer load resulting in a clean tidy site and when the team arrived in the morning they never left the site until finishing time other than Sean trying to find phone signal. Altree Joinery are a very professional company who take pride in their work,work to a very high standard as did the sub-contractors employed on this build, very approachable and quick to respond to any concerns, day or night. Our build was completed on time, on budget and hassle free. We would certainly not hesitate to use them for any building work in the future.

Trust and excellent communication is what you need when you are living in England and having a house built in Skye. Sean and his team at Altree Joinery soon delivered on both these vital elements. Photographs of progress were emailed to us weekly, web links to materials sent and every detail of the build discussed. This enabled us to visualise progress between visits.
The finished house exceeded our expectations; we felt at home straight away. Our home was delivered on time and on budget. Attention was paid to every detail including a bespoke, hand-made staircase and other joinery work.
The work ethic of the Altree team and their chosen specialist sub-contractors were second to none; working tirelessly in all the weather Skye has to offer.
